Sorry, but this is going to be a bit of a rubbish first post. I need to run to a rehearsal right now but I'll post something more interesting later on. Feel free to contact me if you guys have questions about Emory.
Hey man.. I just had a quick question.. What was your high school graduating GPA? Better yet, what GPA did you apply with? What would you recommend me to do during my application process?
Frank D, I can't remember exactly what my GPA in high school was, I think weighted it was 4.2 or something like that. Anyway, if you look on collegeboard.com they have all those stats for every school. GPA is definitely not the only thing that gets considered when your application is being reviewed, though, so I wouldn't stress out about it too much. In terms of your application process, I would recommend that you write a good essay (have other people revise it and triple check it yourself), make sure to include extra-curricular activities you've done throughout high school (volunteering, clubs, leadership roles) and anything else that would set you apart from other candidates. Good luck with your application and let me know if you have any more questions!
Ssyo, the business school is ranked really well by a lot of different publications and has gotten a lot of attention in the past few years but what really matters is the interaction you get to have with your professors and classmates. There is a lot of group work and it's actually quite different from most college classes so it was a little different at first, however, I'm now liking it a lot more. When I started out I wanted to be a finance major and now I'm a marketing major but plan on going to medical school. There is a lot of room for changing your mind and there are also a lot of programs and activities to get involved with that will help you figure out what you want to do. So, to answer your question, I am liking it a lot. I'd be lying if I told you that I enjoyed every single class (I was briefly thinking of getting a CPA but quickly changed my mind after my first financial accounting class) but because overall it's been a really good experience that's allowed me to figure out what I want to do and because the professors are very accessible and helpful.
