Tying back into electronic music, I'm taking a course on just that this semester and it's definitely one of the best classes I've taken here. We work in a studio with tens of thousands of (if not over 100 thousand) dollars worth of equipment and learn about the entire history of electronic music. After every style of music we learn, we compose a piece using the studio equipment and the techniques from that style. I've learned how to use pro-tools and reason so far - two of the most used programs in the recording industry - as well as how to create pretty much any sound you want by using filters and oscillators. I would highly recommend this course to anyone.
Last but not least in this entry: I'm going to be in Paris, France next semester! I just found out over break that I got nominated for the program at the American University of Paris and so that's where I'll be next fall. There are a ton of study abroad programs available either through the college or the business school and everyone I've talked to has had an amazing experience abroad. I'll keep the blog up to date from France but unfortunately won't be able to do too many tours.
I have three exams this week so I'd better get back to studying.
Questions? Concerns? Comments? Remember, I'm a tour guide and this blog is for you guys to find out about Emory so don't be shy now.
